SOLO DATES                SOLO RESULTS           SOLO PHOTOS

Psssst! Hey driver. Got 30 seconds to kill? Let's drive over to that parking lot and see what you're made of. You're wondering...do I race you or the clock. The answer is yes. You see, first I go then you go. If your time is faster than mine, you win. It's simple, right? Oh, let me introduce you to my friend, Cone. That's Mr. Cone to you. He and about   100 of his family are set up in this lot to make absolutely sure that you use your talent to it's max. Drive through the course, not over the cones. Knock one down and it's an easy 2 second penalty and I eat your lunch. Get through clean and we compare times. Hmmm, not bad. Only 3/100 of a second behind me. Maybe there is some ability in there. In the mean time, the lady in the Camaro has you covered by a whole 10th! See all these folks? Most of them came to play in their daily drivers. You don't need anything esoteric or expensive. There is a category for just about any 4 wheeled  car or light truck. We're even racing adults in 125cc shifter karts and kids 8 and older in 5 horse sprint karts.

What's that you say? Don't have a fancy driving suit? Don't need one. No race prepared pavement pounder? Don't need one. No helmet? Well, you'll need one of those. But you can borrow one at the lot. Look, no more excuses. You find out where the Solo (otherwise known as Autocross) is going to be held, you show up, alone or with a buddy, and you enter. Hey, don't tense up. It's way less than the entry fee for the Indy 500. About 40 bucks. Usually less if you're a member of the club (SCCA, remember?) If  your car is registered and has passed a state vehicle inspection (you wouldn't drive it otherwise, right?) you get in line, grab your helmet and go for the glory. When you're done laughing at your times you go work the course while I lay down some hot laps. And we switch back and forth until you yell uncle or the time runs out. And if  you're good you get to take home some nice hardware to show you were dead on, that day. But don't start building a trophy case just yet. I like my awards.

So, if you want to know more about Solo, contact the chief of solo at the address in the directory or fill out the request for information form below. People knowledgeable about the sport will clue you in.

So. Wanna go again?
